About the Children
Children 2 children: daughter, 10 years old; son, 13 years old
Current English Level Daughter — A1 (beginner, knows alphabet, basic greetings, and colors); Son — B1 (can hold conversations, reads adapted novels, writes short essays with occasional grammar mistakes)
Primary Goal: Prepare the son for IELTS (Band 7.0+) and successful entry into an international IB school by age 15; prepare the daughter for Cambridge PET exam and confident transition to an English-medium curriculum
Preferred Methodology: Academic, structured approach for the son with emphasis on essay writing, critical thinking, and exam technique. Play-based and communicative immersion for the daughter. Weekly joint activities (debates, film analysis, board games) to build natural fluency between siblings.
Work Format
Employment Type: Full-time private tutor (live-out position; candidate resides independently in Moscow)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM (7 hours per day, including breaks).
Days Off: Sunday. Saturday sessions are discussed two weeks in advance.
Escort & Travel: Yes — accompany children to basketball practice and figure skating training (both 10 min drive). Travel with the family 2–3 times per year (Europe, UAE) for 1–2 weeks to maintain continuity of lessons.
Candidate Requirements
Gender: Not important
Age: 30–55 years old
Nationality / Language Status: Native English speaker from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland, or New Zealand
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Education, Linguistics, or a related field from a recognized university. PGCE, QTS, or DELTA strongly preferred. Familiarity with Cambridge PET and IELTS preparation is essential.
Work Experience: Minimum 5 years teaching English to children and teenagers (ages 8–16), preferably in an international school or as a private tutor preparing students for Cambridge and IELTS exams. Experience teaching siblings of different ages is a strong advantage. Experience with Russian-speaking students is highly desirable.
References: At least 3 verifiable references from schools, families, or language centers, including at least one from an exam-preparation context.
Additional Skills: Ability to differentiate instruction for mixed-ability learners, experience with online learning platforms (Google Classroom, Quizlet, Kahoot).
Location & Conditions
City / District: Moscow, city center — Tverskoy District, near Pushkin Square
Salary: $5000USD net per month. Paid in rubles at the Central Bank rate on the 5th of each month.
Meals: Lunch provided during working hours. Breakfast and dinner are independent.
Probation Period: 1 month. Full salary during probation

Pets: One Labrador Retriever (friendly, 4 years old). No allergies in the family.
Personal Preferences: The family values curiosity, creativity, and intellectual engagement. They expect structured lessons with clear progress reports every 2 weeks for the son and monthly playful assessments for the daughter. They are looking for a mentor who can balance academic rigor with warmth, manage the energy of two different age groups, and inspire a genuine love of the English language.
