About the Children

Children: 3 children: twin daughters, 7 years old; son, 4 years old
Current English Level: Twin daughters — A1 (can introduce themselves, know numbers to 100, read simple CVC words); Son — zero / beginner (knows a few nursery rhymes and animal names)

Learning Objectives

Primary Goal: Prepare all three children for entry into the British International School of Moscow (BSM) within 18 months. Target levels: daughters — A2 (Cambridge Starters), son — A1 (basic classroom readiness and comprehension).

Preferred Methodology: Full English immersion during all working hours. Play-based and Montessori-inspired learning for the son; structured phonics and early literacy (Jolly Phonics, Oxford Reading Tree) for the daughters. Daily circle time, songs, and storytelling for all three. Weekly science experiments and nature walks in English.

Work Format

Employment Type: Full-time live-in private tutor / governess (resides with the family)
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (10 hours with a 2-hour break during children’s quiet time / nap). Sunday — full day off.

Escort & Travel: Yes — accompany children to gymnastics and swimming lessons (both 5 min walk). Travel with the family 4–5 times per year (France, Italy, Maldives, Sochi) for 1–3 weeks. The tutor is expected to maintain routines and provide English immersion during all trips.

Candidate Requirements

Gender: Female preferred
Age: 26–45 years old
Nationality / Language Status: Native English speaker from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland, or South Africa
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or Linguistics. Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, TEFL/TESOL with YL specialization) is required. Montessori or Reggio Emilia certification is a strong advantage.

Work Experience: Minimum 4 years working with young children (ages 3–8) as a governess, nursery teacher, or early-years tutor. Experience with multiple children of similar age and mixed-ability groups is essential. Live-in experience with Russian-speaking families is highly desirable.
References: At least 2 verifiable references from families or schools, including at least one from a live-in or early-years context.

Location & Conditions

City / District: Moscow, Zamoskvorechye District (south of the river, near Tretyakov Gallery and Gorky Park)

Accommodation: Separate furnished one-bedroom apartment (35 m²) on the ground floor of the townhouse with private entrance, bathroom, kitchenette, Wi-Fi, and washing machine.

Salary $5000 – $6000 USD net per month (depending on experience and qualifications).
Meals: All meals provided.

Probation Period: 4 weeks with weekly feedback sessions. Full salary during probation.

Additional Information

Pets: One Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (indoor, very gentle with children) and two budgerigars. No allergies in the family.
